Westminster and Liberty's boys cross country teams finished with the same number of points at Saturday's Westminster Invitational, but the Owls prevailed based on tiebreaker criteria and won a team title at their home meet.
Lions junior Nick Tilson came in first in the race with a time of 17 minutes 6.3 seconds, while freshman teammate Daniel Saxon was second and junior Andrew Miner came in fourth.
But the Owls packed their runners in, led by senior Brad Arbaugh's third-place finish, and equaled Liberty's 34 team points. Westminster took the title because its sixth runner finished ahead of Liberty's (11th to 19th).
Brandon Arbaugh, a sophomore, ran sixth, with junior Budd Oliver placing 10th and sophomore Shane Wagner coming in 11th for the Owls.
South Carroll was third with 86 points, led by junior Remy Mezebish (12th place) and freshman Jason Cave (14th).
