Volleyball is getting ready for regional playoffs, and there are come intra-county matchups on tap.
South Carroll (0-14) visits Century (9-5) in a Class 2A West Section 1 quarterfinal Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Knights defeated the Cavaliers twice during the regular season.
LIberty (9-5) has a first-round bye in 2A West and the Lions travel to Oakdale next week in the sectional semifinals.
Winters Mill, the co-Carroll County Athletic League champion, also has a bye. The Falcons (12-2) get the SC-Century winner in the next round.
Francis Scott Key (4-10) travels to Boonsboro on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a 1A West Section 1 quarterfinal. The Eagles were swept by the Warriors on Oct. 16.
In 3A West, Manchester Valley (3-11) hosts Blake in a Section 1 quarterfinal Thursday at 6:30. The Mavericks snapped a six-match losing streak with a victory last week over South Carroll.
Westminster, the other co-county champion, has a bye in the 3A West first round. The Owls (13-1) will take on the MV-Blake winner next week.
