Kennedy Major scored from an assist by Emily Messinese and Gerstell’s girls soccer team topped Winters Mill 1-0 on Monday in Finksburg, the Falcons’ second win this season over a Carroll County public school foe.

Noel Talbot helped preserve the shutout with 13 saves for Gerstell (3-4-1). The Falcons defeated Liberty earlier in the fall.


Reilly Lockwood made seven saves for Winters Mill (0-3-2).

JV result: WM, 5-1.

Recap: At Pylesville, Briana Bush scored and Jeri Garland had the assist for the Mavericks (0-5). Sydney Resau made 10 saves.

Recap: At Winfield, the Cavaliers (4-6, 1-1 county) earned their first county victory thanks to two goals from Campbell Vitek and a pair of assists from Meghan Radnoff and Jenna McDermott. Sarah Ritchey had 17 saves for the Falcons (1-6, 0-2).

Recap: At Pikesville, the Eagles (4-1) pounded the Panthers behind five goals from Makayla Black and two each from Casey Rohwein, Suzanne Edwards, Felicity Eriksson, and Morgan Mattson.

JV result: SC, 4-0 (Morgan Collins 2 goals).

Recap: At Westminster National, Emil Serafin shot 35 and Brian Inglis carded a 40 and the Falcons enjoyed a tri-meet sweep. Liam Wolf came in with a 39 for the Knights; Reece Small fired a 44 for the Mavericks.


Cumberland Valley 3, Carroll Christian 0

Recap: At Westminster, the Patriots dropped to 11-3 and lost 25-17, 28-26, 25-19. Abbey Duncan had 11 assists and seven kills, and Emma Paul totaled 14 digs.
