Emily Sicinski collected three doubles and Westminster’s softball team had little trouble in defeating Blake 10-4 to advance in the Class 3A West Region softball playoffs Tuesday afternoon.
Laura Tipton had three hits and two RBIs for the Owls, who improved to 11-6. Lexi Smith added two hits, and Tipton got the win along with six strikeouts.
Westminster moves into the Section 1 final Wednesday to face county foe Manchester Valley.

Recap: On Monday, the Falcons (14-6) jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the top-seeded Dragons and held on for the upset. Chris Hagan had a big RBI double while Tyler Stuck and Mason Burdyck each drove in key runs. Gerstell faces Boys’ Latin on Wednesday in the next round.
