Carroll Varsity Roundup (May 8): Winters Mill comes back, clips Liberty in OT

Katelyn Heffner helped Winters Mill’s girls lacrosse team complete a comeback against Liberty with an overtime goal, and the Falcons won 14-13 on Wednesday to take the Class 2A West Section 1 quarterfinal in Eldersburg.

Becca Thompson and Kaitlyn Thompson had four goals each for the Falcons (4-11), who fell behind early but battled back. Heffner joined Megan Thomas and Madison Harmening with two goals apiece.

The Lions finished their season at 7-8 despite four goals from Morgan Sutherland and three from Alanna Wray.

Westminster 23, Watkins Mill 0

Round: 3A West Section 1 quarterfinal

Recap: At Westminster, Lauren Saltz and Chloe Sedlar had four goals each, and Hannah Dintino added three goals and three assists for the Owls (8-6). Lindsey Elyar scored three goals, and Skylar Miles had four assists..
