Carroll Varsity Roundup (April 27): Westminster pours it on at Century in CCAL softball win

Westminster’s softball team got a pair of three-run home runs en route to a 17-6 victory over Century in Carroll County Athletic League action Saturday in Eldersburg.

Sophia Griffith and Alyssa Dixon each went deep for the Owls (10-5, 7-4 CCAL). Griffith had five RBIs, and Dixon drove in four. Century fell to 6-8, 5-5 despite a double from Madison Sitarek.

Recap: At Marriottsville, the Cavs fell to 7-7 with a road loss. Logan Miller had three hits for SC.

Recap: At Manchester, the Mavericks improved to 6-5 (3-3 CCAL) behind seven goals from Mia Alvarez and five from Jeri Garland. Madison Harmening, Katelyn Heffner, and Megan Thomas each had goals for the Falcons (3-8, 1-5).

Boys Lacrosse

Westminster 20, St. Edward 5

Recap: At Westminster, the Owls (12-0) handled their opponents from Ohio. Evan Park had four goals and Bubba Love added three goals and three assists. Chase Buckwalter scored three goals, and Austin Sipes handed out three assists.
