Carroll Varsity Roundup (April 13): Westminster boys lacrosse wins pair at Western Regional Park

Westminster’s boys lacrosse team stayed unbeaten on the season with two wins Saturday at Western Regional Park in Woodbine, defeating Glenelg 17-13 and beating River Hill 14-8.

Chase Buckwalter had five goals against Glenelg and netted four against River Hill for the Owls (9-0). Bubba Love scored four goals against the Gladiators, while Austin Sipes and Christian Etchison had three apiece.

Logan Covey made 14 saves in Game 2, and totaled 11 saves in Game 2.

Century goes 2-0 at Western Regional Park

Recap: At Woodbine, the Knights (7-1) downed River Hill 8-6 and clipped Glenelg 8-7. Carter Truby had three goals in the Glenelg game, and goalie Adam Zimmerman collected more than 15 saves. Defenders Alex Kristian and Charlie Hackett combined for 18 ground balls.

Westminster hosted Century in a Carroll County Athletic League boys lacrosse matchup on April 11, 2019.

Man Valley goes 1-1 at Troy Park

Recap: At Elkridge, the Mavericks (4-4) beat Mount Hebron 11-8 but lost to St. Mary’s Ryken 19-5. Owen McCallum went for five goals and four assists over the two games. Cody Upman scored three goals against Hebron. MV lost to Dulaney 16-6 on Friday night at Johns Hopkins University.

Winters Mill goes 0-2 at Troy Park

Recap: At Elkridge, the Falcons (2-6) fell to Glenelg Country 20-6, and lost to Mount Hebron 19-15. Madison Harmening scored eight goals in the Hebron game, and Kaitlyn Thompson had two goals and one assist against Glenelg Country.
