Carroll Varsity Roundup (March 30): Home runs lead Century baseball past Manchester Valley

Jared Lamb hit two home runs and Matt Born added a long ball of his own to lead Century past Manchester Valley 12-5 on Saturday morning in Eldersburg.

Lamb and Jeremy Poe had three hits apiece, and Bradley Comer added a home run for the Knights (2-2, 2-1 Carroll County Athletic League).

Zach Scott smacked two home runs and had five RBIs for the Mavericks (1-2, 1-1).

Recap: At Timonium, the Owls lost on a walk-off walk in the seventh. Marcos Mendez had a two-run double, and Cory Moran tossed four innings and allowed no earned runs.

Softball

Manchester Valley 12, Century 4

Recap: At Eldersburg, Erika Bitel and Jazmyn Gouge each hit homers for the Mavericks (3-1, 2-0 CCAL). Emily Kain went deep for the Knights (1-3, 1-2).

Recap: At Timonium, Laura Tipton’s double in the top of the eighth inning scored Jackie Coyle and helped the Owls run their record to 3-0. Tipton earned the win with a complete game and six strikeouts.

Bel Air 16, Liberty 9

Recap: At Bel Air, Jordan Nastos tripled for the Lions (0-4).

Boys Lacrosse

Patterson Mill 11, Winters Mill 10

Recap: At Bel Air on Friday, the Falcons fell to 1-1 despite 18 saves from Jax Francisco and four goals from Kaden Ross. Zach Urban had three goals and an assist.
