Zoe Costley became the fifth player in Westminster girls basketball history to reach 1,000 career points in Tuesday night’s game against Liberty, and the Owls needed every one of her points — and then some — to get past the host Lions.
Costley finished with 19 points, a team high, and Mallory Phillips’ 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Westminster a 55-53 road victory in the Carroll County Athletic League.
Maddie Olexy added 11 points for the Owls (15-6, 9-3 CCAL), and Costley reached 1,000 with her 19 points. She scored eight points in the final frame.
Rachel Thiem led the Lions (8-12, 5-6) with a game-high 20 points, and Alex Bull scored 14.
Recap: At Winfield, Bethany Fowler notched a double-double for the Cavaliers (9-11, 5-6 CCAL) with 13 points and 12 rebounds while Lauren Habighorst scored a game-high 17. Bailey Mathias and Savannah Brooks had nine points apiece for FSK (18-3, 10-2).

Recap: At Eldersburg, the Falcons improved to 11-8 (7-4 CCAL) with a second straight road victory. Erin Snyder scored a game-high 18 points and had nine rebounds, and Kolby Brown scored 12 points. Jess Diorio led Century (5-15, 0-11) with 15 points and Kailyn Jones pulled down eight rebounds.
Manchester Valley 52, Fallston 45
Recap: At Manchester, Amelia Saunders had 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists for the Mavs (8-11) and Josey Klingenberg totlaed seven points and four boards. Kass Johnson score 10, and Erin Piper had eight.points and seven rebounds.
Recap: At Uniontown, Carson Scott scored 25 points and Dylan Graham had 17 for the Cavaliers (8-12, 6-5 CCAL). Noah Vipond had 19 points and nine rebounds for Key (5-16, 2-10), and Ryan Rill netted 16 points.
