Jeremiah Stanton had a team-high 23 points and Gerstell Academy clipped Archbishop Curley 70-66 on Friday night in Finksburg to post a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association boys basketball win.

Ahmad Harrison netted 15 points and Tyler Tillery posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for Gerstell, which improve to 19-12 (13-3 MIAA B Conference). Anthony Carpenter finished with 12 points.


The Falcons led 22-8 after the first quarter but Curley played even the rest of the way.

Century 61, Fallston 26

Recap: At Eldersburg, Justin Wunder had 15 points and the Knights (16-3) won their eighth in a row. Jared Lamb scored 12 and Jake Diehl had 10, and Matt Huber handed out seven assists.

JV result: Century, 38-26 (Colby Owings 15 points).

Girls Basketball

Winters Mill 55, Linganore 50

Recap: At New Market, the Falcons (10-8) came back after trailing 20-0 to stun the Lancers. Erin Snyder finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Kolby Brown scored 12, and McKenzie Zepp had eight opints and nine boards.

JV result: Linganore, 44-39 (WM-Katelyn Heffner 15 points).

Manchester Valley 64, New Town 40

Recap: At Manchester, Amelia Saunders scored 17 points to lead the Mavericks (7-11) and Josey Klingenberg added 15 to go with nine steals, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Saunders added six board and four assists, and Ellie Boswell netted 10 points.

Long Reach 53, South Carroll 36

Recap: At Winfield, Rachel Tackett scored eight points for the Cavs (8-11) and Bethany Fowler scored six.

JV result: SC, 41-18 (Grace Oetken and Sarah Vaught 12 points each).
