Francis Scott Key’s girls basketball team extended its winning streak to six games with a 58-33 victory over Brunswick in Uniontown on Wednesday.

Freshman Savannah Brooks paced the Eagles (12-1) with 16 points, Karla Stonesifer added 14 and Kennedy Cornick scored eight.


JV result: Francis Scott Key, 38-15.

Century 63, Owings Mills 9

Recap: At Eldersburg, the Knights (3-10) snapped a four-game losing streak in dominating fashion. Kaylie Magill led Century with 11 points and Lily Conaway scored 10 to go along with nine rebounds. Kailyn Jones totaled eight points and six steals.

Linganore 36, South Carroll 28

Recap: At Winfield, Rachel Tackett scored eight points and Ashleigh Zepp notched seven rebounds for the Cavaliers (6-7).

JV result: Linganore, 41-24.

Westminster 45, Urbana 42

Recap: At Westminster, Zoe Costley scored 15 points and Mallory Phillips added 10 in a fourth straight victory for the Owls (9-4). Sophia Diehl scored seven points and added eight rebounds and Costley added five rebounds and three steals.

JV result: Urbana, 30-28.

Liberty 42, Glenelg 39

Recap: At Glenelg, Rachel Thiem notched her first triple double of the season with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals for the Lions (4-8). Jess Littlejohn added 11 points and Alex Bull scored seven.

JV result: Glenelg, 30-26.

Carroll Christian 58, Frederick Christian 40

Recap: At Frederick, Camille Echegoyen and Sydney Wooden scored 18 points apiece and Mikaela Martin notched 10 for the Patriots (12-1, 6-0 MACSAC). Echegoyen added seven rebounds and nine steals, Wooden had seven boards, five steals and four assists. Martin also brought down nine rebounds.

Recap: At Eldersburg, Carter Truby led the Knights with 17 points. Matt Huber scored 16 and Jared Lamb added 12 for the Knights (9-3).

JV result: Century, 48-40 (Colby Owings 12 points).

Francis Scott Key 58, Brunswick 23

Recap: At Brunswick, Noah Vipond paced the Eagles with a double-double, going for 25 points and 12 rebounds. The Eagles (4-10) limited the Railroaders to eight points in the first half, two in the second quarter.

Linganore 74, South Carroll 40

Recap: At New Market, the Cavaliers fell to 5-8. Box score information wasn’t reported.

Westminster 69, Urbana 68

Recap: At Ijamsville, the Owls rallied from a 20-point third quarter deficit to defeat the Hawks. Terren MacDonald, who had 21 points, sank a 3-pointer with five seconds left for the Owls (8-4).
