Carroll Varsity Roundup (Jan. 13, 14, 15): Pavlik goes for 22, South Carroll boys basketball cruises past Westminster

South Carroll topped Westminster 65-38 on Friday night in Carroll County Athletic League boys basketball action.

Karson Pavlik led the Cavaliers (4-0, 4-0 CCAL) with 22 points and Aidan Greaney added 10. Colby Cotoia paced the Owls (1-3, 1-3) with eight points.

Francis Scott Key 55, Westminster 53

Highlights: On Wednesday, Ryan Rill converted a put-back layup at the buzzer and the Eagles won their first game of the season. Liam McGrath had a game-high 17 points, Travis Williams added 16, and Rill collected a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Patrick Haynes had 11 points and Mark Chatkin added nine points and eight boards for Westminster.

Liberty 61, South Carroll 47

Highlights: Alex Bull netted 19 points and Jenna Liska scored 11 for the Lions (4-0, 4-0 CCAL). Olivia Reardon and Shannon McTavish had 12 points each for SC (3-1, 3-1).

Century 45, Winters Mill 30

Highlights: Abby Barnes had 12 points and Eva Brandt scored eight for the Knights (3-1, 3-1 CCAL). Allie Cullison led the Falcons (1-3, 1-3) with 12 points.

Man Valley 54, FSK 40

Highlights: Casey Meredith collected 10 points, eight steals, and four assists for the Mavs, and Carmaya Bowman added 10 points and five rebounds. Ally Mathias scored 13 for the Eagles.

Liberty 73, FSK 31

Highlights: On Wednesday, the Lions improved to 3-0 behind 16 points from Alex Bull, 12 from Jess Littlejohn, and 10 from Kayla Allen. Bull added 11 rebounds and Sam Hardy grabbed 10. FSK is 0-3, 0-3.

Highlights: On Wednesday, Demma Hall had 17 points and Erin Mellendick added 14 for the Knights (2-1, 2-1). Abby Kindle netted 11 points and Jillian Pumputis scored 10 for the Owls (0-4, 0-4). Carlie Rosewag grabbed six rebounds.

Westminster 60, Century 21

Highlights: On Thursday, The Knights got pins from Caleb Barnhill (106), Ben Johnson (132), and victories from Carson Fitzgerald and Jake Hurst. Westminster (2-1, 2-1 CCAL) prevailed and benefited from five forfeits. Ryder Eckenbarger, Ivan Allen, Dan Stephens, and Harrison Reed got pins for the Owls.

Man Valley 50, Winters Mill 20

Highlights: On Thursday, the Mavericks bounced back from their loss Tuesday against Westminster thanks to pins from Jake Boog (138), Logan Zeigenfuse (152), Heathe Hernandez (160), Jonathon Bolt (182), and Grant Warner (220). The Falcons picked up pins from Luke Chmar (170) and Reed Postlethwait (120).
