Carroll Varsity Roundup (Jan. 12): Liberty wrestling wins Hammond Invitational

Liberty High School’s wrestling team crowned four individual champions and finished first out of 12 teams at the Hammond Invitational that wrapped up Saturday in Columbia.

The Lions collected titles from Jacob Slicher (152 pounds), Sammy Nehme (160), McClain Butler (170), and Noah Wienclawski (195). All four grapplers went 8-0 in the tournament.

Ryan Ohler (113), Daniel Bird (126), and Jacob Gaskin (132) each placed third. Anhony Marsico (145) was fourth.

Westminster also competed in the invite. Marley Warfield (170) and Jack Conrad (195) each took second for the Owls, while Zach Caltrider (138) and Chase Buckwalter (152) finished third.
