Junior Karson Pavlik had 31 points, 20 of which came in the first half, and South Carroll topped Francis Scott Key 62-42 in Carroll County Athletic League boys basketball action Friday night in Uniontown.
The Cavaliers improved to 2-0 (2-0 CCAL) despite Pavlik being the only SC player to reach double figures in scoring. Ryan Rill had 14 points and six rebounds for the Eagles in their opener.
Liberty 70, Winters Mill 31
Highlights: Shane Stewart scored 19 and Steve Talbot added 12 for the Lions (1-1, 1-1 CCAL). Tyler Sabad led the Falcons with 11 points.
Westminster 53, Man Valley 41
Highlights: Connor Levinson poured in a game-high19 points for the Owls (1-1, 1-1 CCAL). Ja’Quan Dukes led the Mavericks (0-1, 0-1) with 12 points and Owen Murphy grabbed nine rebounds. Westminster won the second quarter 20-6 in the win.

Highlights: The Cavaliers (2-0, 2-0 CCAL) got 13 points from Olivia Reardon, 12 from Shannon McTavish, and 11 from Bethany Fowler. Wilcoria Taku netted 11 points and Ally Mathias scored 10 for Key (0-2, 0-2).

Highlights: On Thursday, the Falcons (1-1, 1-1 CCAL) got pins from Alex Vagnier (132 pounds), Zach Kirby (138), Brady Forte (145), and Luke Chmar (170). Zach Kinloch (126) and Bodey Griffin (152) got a pin for the Eagles, but they had to give up seven matches via forfeit.
