Carroll Varsity Roundup (Jan. 7): Giles leads Westminster past South Carroll with five 3-pointers

Drue Giles connected in five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points in leading Westminster past South Carroll 71-62 in Carroll County Athletic League boys basketball action Monday night in Winfield.

Joe Wright scored 14 and Jacob Busic had nine for the Owls, who ran their record to 6-3, 4-1 in the CCAL. Westminster has won three games in a row.

Dylan Graham and Carson Scott each netted a team-high 17 points for the Cavaliers (4-6, 2-3), while Mason Gavin scored 10.

JV result: Westminster, 39-37.

Century 62, Winters Mill 35

Recap: At Eldersburg, Jake Diehl paced the Knights (8-2, 5-0 CCAL) with 14 points and Justin Wunder scored 12 along with Carter Truby. Chandler Gentzel led the Falcons (2-8, 0-5) with 16.
