Four Carroll County girls lacrosse players have been recognized on the Under Armour Senior All-America watch list for 2021.
The list, compiled by Corrigan Sports in conjunction with Inside Lacrosse, recognizes the nation’s top seniors who are in contention for All-America status following the school year. A total of 207 players from across the country were selected to the list, 97 boys and 110 girls.
Century midfielder Demma Hall made the list, as well as Gerstell midfielder Emily Messinese, defender Kennedy Major, and defender Haley Polk.
Hall, who is committed to Maryland, totaled 48 goals and 49 assists as a sophomore in 2019. Her 97 points led the Knights in scoring and were good for second most in Carroll County that season. She added 48 draw controls and 41 ground balls.
Hall was one of 12 midfielders on Inside Lacrosse’s Preseason All-ILWomen High School Team in March 2020. She was also Inside Lacrosse’s top recruit among the Class of 2021.
Messinese, a Navy commit, posted 53 goals and five assists in 2019, while collecting a team-best 72 draw controls. Later that summer, earned a spot on Team USA’s under-17 team after participating in the National Team Development Program Combine.
Major (Maryland) added 22 goals, 46 draws, and 33 ground balls in 2019 for the Falcons. Polk (Michigan) pitched in on that Falcons squad with 25 draw controls, six goals, and three assists.
Girls lacrosse wasn’t played in Carroll in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which cost these four players their junior high school seasons.
