Nationals win MAYAA crown

The Mount Airy Youth Athletic Association held its under-8 machine pitch championship June 8 at the Mount Airy Fire Company carnival grounds, and the Nationals survived a triple-header to win the league championship. The Nats outlasted the White Sox 17-10 and finished with a 17-1 record — 12-0 during the regular season and 5-1 in the playoffs.

Their team’s record is believed to be a new record for the MAYAA.
