Isaac Ray sank a pair of free throws with 12 seconds remaining to help McDaniel College edge Washington College 67-64 in Centennial Conference men’s basketball action Thursday in Chestertown.
The Shoremen missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 5 seconds to play, and McDaniel’s Josh Sproul snagged the rebound to help seal the win.
The Terror improved to 6-12, 2-9 in the Centennial. Aaron Washington led McDaniel with 19 points and Mike Wallace scored 15. Ray had 11 points while Caleb Johnson totaled eight points and six rebounds.
Dallas Marshall had 17 points for Washington (8-10, 4-7).
McDaniel shot 75 percent from the free-throw line (18-for-24) compared to the Shoremen’s 45.8 percent (11-for-24). Washington went 7-for-8 from the line and Johnson went 6-for-6.
The Green Terror snapped a five-game losing streak, and travel to Muhlenberg on Saturday at 2 p.m. for their next contest.
