Bittinger’s commitment to the high side paid off as he held off Owings for his 18th career Trail-Way Speedway 358 victory.

It was the fifth victory of the Connecticut driver’s career at the oval. RACE: 30-lap Morgan Cup for the World of Outlaws and PA Posse 410 Super Sprint Feature WINNER: Lance Dewease, Fayetteville, Pa.

RACE NOTES: Dewease drove by World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz not once but twice to score the $17,000 Morgan Cup title for the 95th victory of his career at Williams Grove. First, Dewease drove by Schatz in the six-lap dash to earn the pole for the main event by driving away and then in the 30-lap feature, after Schatz got the early lead, the Fayetteville flyer repeated the feat to get the win. Schatz was leading over Dewease and Danny Dietrich on the second tour when the only caution flag of the race unfurled for a slowing Logan Schuchart. Schatz chose the outside lane for the double file restart and again pulled out in front of Dewease when action resumed. But Dewease was able to prevent Schatz from getting too far out in front, keeping him in sight so that when the leader ran up on the rear of the field beginning on lap 10, he was able to quickly close the distance. On lap 25 Dewease took the lead from Schatz and held on to the checkered with a 2.416 second lead.
