It is Christmas day
And all through the sky,
The birds are flying
With hope in their eyes.
Feeders are hung
On the branches with care,
Suet and sunflower seeds
And peanuts so rare.
As the snow blows ‘round them
How grateful they are,
For their fluffy down feathers
It’s so darn cold! Br-r-r-r!!
As they gather ‘round the feeders
They thank their Master,
For all the human kindnesses
That keep them from disaster.
Good food, clean water
And warm shelter at night,
This is the Christmas spirit
That shines oh so bright.
All the birds thank you
For the love that you share,
On this very special day
And every day of the year!
