10 Howard students named Achievement Scholarship semifinalists

Ten Howard County students were named semifinalists for the 2012 National Achievement Scholarship Program, the National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The program, started in 1964, has awarded more than $98 million in scholarships. It was founded to recognize academically promising black students throughout the nation. More the 1,600 students in the country were named 2012 semifinalists.

Howard County semifinalists include Ifeoluwa Olujobi, of River Hill High School, Meaza Getachew and Enobong Nta of Atholton High School, Modupe O. Adetunji of Hammond High School, Linda I. Ogwuazor of Long Reach High School, Sowa Y. Imoisili of Centennial High School, Adetola A. Abdulkadir, Abisola Jegede and Madison B. Rodwell of Howard High School and Tobi A. Fadiran of Glenelg High School.

Finalists will be announced in January 2012.
