Former Raven Ayanbadejo to speak tonight at McDaniel

Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo will speak at McDaniel College Wednesday, Oct. 16, discussing his journey from being a professional football player to becoming a vocal supporter of equal rights and same-sex marriage.

Organized by McDaniel College's Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, the event is titled "Words Have Power: Brendon Ayanbadejo Speaks Out."

Ayanbadejo, a member of the 2013 Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, was the first professional athlete to publicly support marriage equality. He was released by the Ravens April 3.

The hour-long moderated question-and-answer session is free and open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall, but doors open at 6:45 p.m.
