Wednesday

Holiday Mail for Heroes: 9 a.m. For all ages. Drop in any time between Saturday November 22, 2014 and Wednesday, November 26, 2014 to create holiday cards for our veterans, military families and active duty service members. Cards and personal messages provide a welcome touch of home for our troops during the holiday season. You can make or sign donated holiday cards that we will mail through the Red Cross to troops around the world. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. During library hours.

Story Pals: Forest: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a play group for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Minecraft and Munchies: 2 p.m. For ages 11-17. Register for this event today. Drop in for an afternoon snack and some Minecraft challenges on our library server. Some will be in Creative, others in Survival mode. All attendees need to register.

Teen Advisory Board: 3:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. Calling all teens looking for leadership roles in planning library programs. We want you for our Teen Advisory Board. Meetings start with snacks at 3:30, and officially get started at 3:45. Need service hours? We've got those too.

Appy Hour: e-Books, Digital Movies, and More.: 6 p.m. For adults. Do you have a tablet, smartphone or other device that uses apps? Drop in for Appy Hour, the first Tuesday of each month, for help with using FREE library apps such as Overdrive (e-books), Zinio (e-magazines), Mango (online language learning) and our newest app, hoopla (digital movies, audiobooks, and music). Make sure to bring your device(s) with you for a personalized walk-through. Drop in any time during the hour but remember that it is first come, first served. Refreshments will be served.

Evening Story Time: Homes: 7 p.m. For all ages. End your day in a special way. This story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Finksburg Library Branch

You are invited to join the Rainbow Book Club as we discuss and explore a variety of LGBTQ related titles, stories, and topics in a safe and respectful environment. This program is open to adults of any sexual orientation or gender identity. The Rainbow Book Club is presented by PFLAG Westminster-Carroll County and hosted by Carroll County Public Library.
