Westminster Library Branch

Wednesday

Story Pals: Dads: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Pumpkin Palooza II: 3 p.m. For ages 3-11. Register for this event today. Join the library for its 2nd Annual Pumpkin Palooza. Come learn about how pumpkins grow, play pumpkin games, and decorate your very own pumpkin to take home. The friendly staff from Living Waters Garden Center in Westminster will join the group for a pumpkin adventure. Yummy snacks will be served. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served. Only kids need to register.

Ghost Walk of Westminster: 6:30 p.m. For ages 10-adults. Register for this event today. Join the library for a ghost presentation and stroll through Westminster to visit local ghosts and legends. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees need to register. A Celebrating America program.

A Night in Cuba: 7 p.m. For ages 10-adults. Although Cuba is not at the top of their list of usual travel destinations, more and more Americans have begun visiting this Caribbean island now that President Obama has eased travel restrictions. A short documentary film will be shown that explores Cuban topography, religious practices, cuisine, education, etc. You will also see lots of pictures taken by some Carroll County travelers who had a chance to visit this beautiful island recently on a trip arranged through The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.

Friday

Little Monsters Story Time: 10 a.m. For ages 2-5. Monsters aren't so scary after all. Join the library for fun stories, activities, and crafts that show that monsters can be just like us. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Have a spooktacular time with the library's Teen Advisory Board as they celebrate Halloween after hours. They are planning a few tricks and plenty of treats. All attendees need to register. Permission slips are required and can be picked up at the Information Desk. Refreshments will be served.

Monday

Read and Play: 9:30 a.m. For ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

On My Own: School Days: 10:30 a.m. For ages 3-6. A theme-based story time for children who are ready for an independent, small group experience. All adult caregivers are welcome.

Teen Advisory Board: 3:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. Calling all teens looking for leadership roles in planning library programs. The library wants you for its Teen Advisory Board. Meetings start with snacks at 3:30, and officially get started at 3:45. Need service hours? We've got those too. Refreshments will be served.

The Faith Club: Living in the Shadow of the Cross: Understanding and Resisting the Power and Privilege of Christian Hegemony by Paul Kivel, led by Nan Nelson: 7 p.m. For adults. If you are interested in reading about faith and having an interfaith dialog, you are invited to join the discussion at The Faith Club, where a broad spectrum of beliefs will be explored in an informative and respectful atmosphere.
