All About Alpacas: 7 p.m. For adults. Join Tom and Mary Wilson of Pearl Moon Alpacas as they discuss the business of raising alpacas. Topics will include the history, origin, behavior, fiber and alpaca wool products, basic care and benefits of raising alpacas.

Do You Like Green Eggs and Ham?: 10 a.m. For ages 3 to 10. Join the library in celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss with the Cat in the Hat and the Women's Club of Westminster. Children age 3 must be accompanied by adult caregiver. Only kids need to register.

Saturday

Westminster Branch's 1st Annual Black-Eyed Susan Celebration: 1 to 3 p.m. For all ages. Join the library for a party to celebrate the Maryland award that encourages children statewide to read quality, contemporary literature and then vote for their favorite. Guest readers will be on hand to share nominated books. The celebration will include crafts, games and planting your own black-eyed susan. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Join a workshop to help you master some techniques of facial exercise for improving the muscle tone, fullness and skin condition of your face. The workshop consists of three sessions: learning, follow-up and assessment; register once for all three.

Alphabet Train: Letters I & J: 11 a.m. For ages 3 to 6. Climb aboard each week to explore a different letter of the alphabet through books, songs and activities. All adult caregivers are welcome.

Author Talk: Kevin O'Malley: 2:30 p.m. For ages 5 to adults. School's out early and Maryland children's author/illustrator Kevin O'Malley is coming to the Finksburg branch. O'Malley has written and illustrated more than 50 books including such favorites as "Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude" and "Cinder Edna." Come hear how O'Malley got started illustrating and authoring children's books. Bring your books to be autographed and your camera to snap a photo with the author. All attendees need to register.

Yoga Demo: 7 p.m. For ages 12 to adults. Laurel Brennan is a yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga to seniors, adults and children for nearly a decade. She is also a certified and licensed occupational therapist and promotes yoga as a therapy to align the body physically as well as a way to calm the mind. Join her for an introduction to yoga from either a chair or a mat. Bring a mat, if you have one. All attendees need to register.
