Medicare 101: 5 p.m. For adults. Are you eligible for Medicare in the coming months? Do you already have Medicare and want to learn more? Join us for a free 1 hour workshop that will include the four parts of Medicare and how they work, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, find out if you qualify for Medicare Savings Programs (all Savings Programs are not low-income programs), free preventive services offered by Medicare, and learn how to protect yourself from healthcare fraud. Needle Nuts: 6 p.m. For adults. Wanted: Knitters and crocheters of all levels. Would you like to share your projects, and talents, with others? Or do you want to learn how to knit or crochet? Then here's your chance. Grab your needles and yarn (beginning knitters bring size 8 needles, crocheters a size H hook, and worsted weight, light-colored yarn) and join the rest of us at the Westminster Branch at our new time of 6 p.m.

Play Baby Play: 10 a.m. For ages birth-3. You're invited to a morning play group just for little ones. Come enjoy a warm and inviting space where you and your child can play with our toys, read a board book, enjoy music and socialize with others. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

National Static Electricity Day: 2 p.m. For ages 3-10. Join us in celebrating this special day as we have lots of fun experimenting with static electricity. It will be shocking how much fun you'll have. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Saturday

Fireside Story Time Series: Arctic Life: 11 a.m. For all ages. Join us beside a crackling (faux) fire to enjoy stories, rhymes and crafts featuring some of our favorite things about winter. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

American Girls and American History: Marie-Grace (1853): 2 p.m. For ages 8-12. Register for this event today. Step back in time with your 19-inch doll or toy. Come experience the past with your doll through stories, crafts, and games. Find out what life was like for the American Girl characters in their diverse cultures and time periods in American history. Only kids need to register. A Celebrating America program.

Yoga for a Healthy Mind and Body: 2 p.m. For adults. Register for this event today. Improve flexibility while focusing on your mind-body connection with a beginner's yoga class taught by A Mindful Yoga Studio of Westminster. Yoga mats will be provided, or bring your own.

Middle Eastern Belly Dancing Demo: 11 a.m. For all ages. Register for this event. Bring the whole family. Come to this fun belly dancing workshop taught by local belly dancer Liz Slaterbeck. Writing Fiction that Sells: Keep it Brisk and Writing a Great Query: 1 p.m. For adults. Join Kathryn Johnson, who teaches at the Washington DC Writer's Center, as she offers advice on writing fiction that sells. She is an Agatha Christie Award nominee and released her new contemporary romantic-suspense series Affairs of State in 2014.

PAWS to Read: 2 p.m. For ages 5-17. Register for this event. Come to the library and read a story to a book-loving dog. Research shows that children enjoy improving their reading skills by practice reading to animals. Registration preferred, but walk-ins welcome. Only kids need to register.
