Carroll Hospital Center announced it is expanding its health care services with the addition of urgent care centers in Eldersburg and Reisterstown. Effective Friday, August 1, MyCare Express will become a part of the hospital under a new name, Carroll Hospital Center My Care Now.
This addition of urgent care facilities fulfills part of the hospital's strategic plan, Vision 2020, to create a hospital dedicated to not only treating people when they become ill, but also helping them stay healthy. To do that, Carroll Hospital Center is finding new and innovative ways to deliver high quality, low cost, next-generation care in the best and most convenient settings.
"Dr. Adjei has created a strong physician-led model of care that aligns with the hospital's mission," said Leslie Simmons, R.N., F.A.C.H.E., president and CEO. "Urgent care is a welcome addition to the hospital's family of services and further strengthens our ability to offer our community high quality care at the right time, in the right location."
Many of the MyCare Express health care providers and staff that community members have come to depend on will be supported by the full resources and services of Carroll Hospital Center. As part of the transition, MyCare Express founder Bettina Adjei, M.D., who is board certified in emergency medicine, will continue to lead the urgent care centers' high quality care team as the medical director.
Since opening in 2008, MyCare Express, now Carroll Hospital Center My Care Now, has specialized in providing the immediate treatment of health care needs, and offers a range of services from treatment of injuries and illnesses to X-ray and labs, as well as occupational medicine. With convenient locations in Eldersburg and Reisterstown, Carroll Hospital Center My Care Now is available when you are unable to see your physician. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
