North Carroll Library July 15-21

The North Carroll branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 2255 Hanover Pike, Greenmount, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4480.

Family Storytime: Zoo: 10 a.m. For all ages. Share books, stories, rhymes, music and movement in a format appropriate for young children. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

GSK Science in the Summer: Physical Science for Second- and Third-Graders: 1 p.m. For ages 7-8. For kids entering second and third grade. Work with other children to make a compass and electromagnet, build circuits with batteries and bulbs, and more. All children must be preregistered to attend. A parent or guardian must come in person to fill out and sign the registration form for his/her child. Children must be able to attend all of the classes that week — July 13-16. GSK Science in the Summer is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline and administered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in partnership with community-based organizations. Only kids need to register.

Read and Play: 10:30 a.m. For ages birth-24 months, with accompanying caregiver. Join your little one at a storytime featuring interactive books, rhymes, music and movement, followed by playgroup activities which allow children to practice skills and socialize.

Elephant & Piggie Theatre: 1 p.m. For all ages. Registration required. The stars of Mo Willems' "Elephant and Piggie" series act out some of their favorite stories. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. All attendees need to register. Sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.

PBS World Premiere and Scavenger Hunt: 11 a.m. For ages 2-10. Be the first to see the world premiere episode of a PBS kids show. Then search the North Carroll branch to find hidden PBS friends. Part of the Quality Digital Media Partnership series with WQED-PBS, LittleeLit.com, and Carroll County Public Library. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Card Camp: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Registration required. Create your own greeting cards using the library's newly launched collection of rubber stamps. Examples and supplies will be provided. If you want to continue crafting, you can check out a stamp set and take it home. All attendees need to register.

Move and Learn: Special Program: The Magic of Roger Lindsay: 10 a.m. For ages 2-6. A theme-based storytime featuring an age-appropriate story, songs and learning activities, with a concentration on creative movement. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration required.
