Story Pals: Down Under: 9:45 a.m. For ages 2 to 3, with accompanying adult. A theme-based storytime featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays and activities.

Knit Wits: 7 p.m. For ages 11 to adults. Beginners are asked to bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. Those who know how to kit may bring projects they are currently working on. .

Montessori-Based Approaches for Alzheimer's: Making Moments Worth Living: 7 p.m. For adults. Register for this event. Many are familiar with the Montessori approach to learning for children. But is it successful when used as an intervention for those with Alzheimer's disease? There has been much research to support the use of success-based activities when working with individuals with memory impairment. Learn how to apply Montessori-based approaches to your loved one with dementia and how to adapt programs to make them both age appropriate and success-oriented to improve the quality of life for those with dementia and the caregiver.

Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages birth to 24 months, with accompanying adult. A storytime featuring lap games, tickles, bounces and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling.

Business Communications: 5:30 p.m. For adults. Writing clearly and communicating your message is vital in today's economy. Learn to write effective business newsletters and other marketing materials, business correspondence — emails, letters and contractual writings — speeches and presentations. Brush up on essential grammar and writing techniques to create a framework for getting your message out to the public. Instructed by Donna Chaney. KidWorks Kids Present: Dora and Diego: 6:30 p.m. For all ages. Join the KidWorks kids as they present a storytime filled with stories, songs and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

PAWS to Read: 2 p.m. For ages 6 to 17. Come to the library and read a story to a book-loving dog. Research shows that children enjoy improving their reading skills by practice reading to animals. Struggling readers are encouraged to participate. Only kids need to register.

Jazz Pizazz with the Charles Eron Trio: 1:30 p.m. For all ages. The Charles Eron Trio will play jazz standards, contemporary and original compositions in the café area of the library. Spend a Sunday afternoon listening to McDaniel graduate Charles Eron and his band members Paul Morales on electric bass, and Ben Reiff on drums. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Family Storytime: Sweet Treats: 9:45 a.m. For all ages. Books, stories, rhymes, music and movement will be shared during this program. Come talk, sing, read, write and play together in a format appropriate for young children. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
