Story Pals: Art: 9:45 a.m. For ages 2 to 3, with adult caregiver. A theme-based storytime featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays and activities.

Questions about Health Insurance?: 5 to 8 p.m. For adults. If you need information about the new health insurance laws or help applying for coverage, come to a free community forum at your local library. Participants may drop in at any time and certified staff will be available to assist them.

Code It @ the Library: Python: 6:30 p.m. For ages 13 to adults. Register for this event. Explore coding as the library introduces the basics of programming in Python by building a simple game. Python is an easy-to-learn, high-level computer language. Bring a USB flash drive if you want to save your finished project to take home.

Knit Wits: 7 p.m. For ages 11 to adults. Beginners are asked to bring a light colored, worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. Those who know how to knit are encouraged to bring projects with them.

Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages birth to 24 months, with adult caregiver. A storytime featuring lap games, tickles, bounces and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling.

Service-Learning Hours: KidWorks: 5:30 p.m. For ages 12 to 17. KidWorks meets twice a month. At the first meeting, participants spend an hour planning a storytime for younger kids. At the second meeting, participants present the storytime. Individuals must come to both meetings to earn three service-learning hours.

Valentine's Silhouettes: 6:30 p.m. For ages 11 to adults. Register for this event. Looking for a sentimental, last-minute Valentine's Day gift? Bring a picture in profile of you or your loved one or have the picture taken at the library. Library staff people will be creating silhouettes using paint, scrapbook paper and picture frames. All attendees need to register.

Friday

Discover Math: Make a Valentine Glyph: 10 a.m. For ages 3 to 5. Register for this event. This program is part of a math series for preschoolers. Participants will read a story and learn about how to make a graph called a glyph. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register.

Saturday

Saturday Storytime: Art: 9:45 a.m. For all ages. A theme-based storytime featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

An Introduction to Tai Chi Chuan: 2 p.m. For adults. Register for this event. Tai chi chuan, roughly referred to as internal martial arts, has achieved popularity in China and beyond. It is performed in a slow, relaxed, continuous and graceful manner. Tai chi emphasizes relaxation, meditation and harmony of both mind and body.

Free Spirit Book Club: "Finding My Voice," by Diane Rehm: 2 p.m. For adults. Join the library for a discussion of its chosen book. This program is presented in collaboration with the One Maryland One Book initiative of the Maryland Humanities Council. A Celebrating America program.

Sunday

Jazz Pizazz with the Charles Eron Trio: 1:30 p.m. For all ages. The Charles Eron Trio will play jazz standards, contemporary and original compositions in the café area of the library. Spend a Sunday afternoon listening to McDaniel graduate Charles Eron and his band members Paul Morales on electric bass, and Ben Reiff on drums. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. A Celebrating America program.
