Homeschooler's Class: Battery Experiments: 2 p.m. For ages 6 to 11. Join the fun in these literature-based science, social studies, math and language arts programs.

Black-Eyed Susan Book Discussion: "Big Bad Ironclad," by Nathan Hale: 7 p.m. For ages 9 to 11. Join us for a discussion of this month's chosen Black-Eyed Susan Nominee book from the 4th through 6th grade list. This is a great way to prepare for the Battle of the Books if you are on a team. Participation in Battle of the Books is not required to join what is sure to be a lively discussion. Area school library media specialists will help facilitate the discussion. All attendees need to register.

Crochet 911: 7 p.m. For ages 11 to adults. Join Caroline Brocato to learn how to crochet. If you know how to crochet, you can join the group. Bring a size J hook and light colored yarn to the class.

Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages birth to 24 months, with accompanying adult caregiver. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces and rhymes followed by a play group for meeting and mingling.

PAWS to Read: 2 p.m. For ages 6 to 17. Register for this event. Come to the library and read a story to a book-loving dog. Research shows that children enjoy improving their reading skills by reading to animals. Struggling readers are encouraged to participate. Only kids need to register.

Jazz Pizazz with the Charles Eron Trio: 1:30 p.m. For all ages. The Charles Eron Trio will play jazz standards, contemporary and original compositions in the café area of the library. Spend a Sunday afternoon listening to McDaniel graduate Charles Eron and his band members Paul Morales on electric bass, and Ben Reiff on drums. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by adult caregiver.
