Summer has just officially arrived and already we have seen 90-degree weather.
If you are like me, no matter the weather, mornings are never "good mornings" without a healthy dose of coffee. This time of year, I prefer my coffee sweet, light and cold.
Where do I go to get this? The Reisterstown Wawa.
This Wawa is unique, in that it is the only one in the Reisterstown/Owings Mills/Glyndon area. And it happens to be less than a mile from my home in Reisterstown.
For people who are usually on the go, Wawa is a smart choice. It's always fast, friendly and convenient.
Most mornings I dart in on my way to work and grab a fountain iced coffee.
My favorite is the vanilla, but I like the mocha mint and the regular, as well. These fountain ready-made iced coffees are available in the back of the store and come in small, medium, large and extra-large. Because you pour them yourself, you determine how much ice you put into your drink.
Besides these ready-made iced coffee drinks, Wawa also offers specialty coffee drinks like lattes and macchiatos, which you can get either hot or cold.
If coffee isn't your cup of tea, you can go for a chai tea instead. Wawa's chai teas come in regular, chocolate and vanilla, and can come with whipped cream as an added treat.
If you prefer hot coffee, Wawa won't disappoint. Hot coffee is available in mild, medium, rich and bold varieties.
Mild flavors include regular, decaf, French vanilla, salted caramel, and hazelnut.
Wawa's medium is 100 percent Colombian roast. It's sweet, smooth and flavorful.
Their rich brew is made with 100 percent Arabica beans.
The bold is a dark roast.
Wawa also offers amazing hot chocolate in a variety of flavors, including mint, caramel, white chocolate, salted caramel and sugar free.
If you'd like to steer clear of coffee or hot drinks entirely, Wawa offers a number of yummy frozen drinks, including fruit smoothies that come in peach, peach banana, strawberry, strawberry banana, peach mango, and mango banana. Wawa offers cream smoothies, as well, which come in a wide variety of flavors, including strawberry banana, banana Cream, caramel cream, caramel chocolate chip, mint cookies and cream, and caramel cheesecake.
Wawa also offers amazing frozen lemonade, which you can get in either lemon, peach or strawberry flavors.
I love Wawa's frozen drinks pretty much any time of the day. It's not unusual for me to be in there two or three times a day this time of the year.
Wawa also serves food, including pre-packaged salads, cheeses, fruits and yogurts. The store offers made-to-order sandwiches, hoagies, breakfast bowls, soups and salads. You can also get ready-made breakfast sandwiches on muffins, bagels and biscuits. Their hot dogs are a wonderful, quick and easy on-the-go meal for lunch or dinner, as well.
The Reisterstown Wawa is also a convenience store offering bread, snacks and even gasoline.
The store, at 516 Main St., is open 24 hours a day.
