Why do you wake up in the morning?
The reasons that we wake up in the morning drive nearly everything that we do, especially in relation to health.
We wake up every single morning to keep living and to keep ourselves going. When life gives us a million reasons to sleep forever or never get out of bed, we still get up every single morning and do our thing.
So, what's your thing? What's your passion? What makes it all worth it?
Every day might not be good, but there is always something good in every day. For me, it's all about the little things, like someone letting me in front of them on a rush hour commute on the dreaded Md. 695 or getting some extra free time for a workout in my busy schedule. Even if the rest of my day has been horrible, the little things make it all worth it and can always put a smile on my face.
Some people set that 5 a.m. alarm and roll out of bed to go for an early morning run or gym session before work or school. That takes some serious dedication and motivation.
Some people have a little one saying, "Mommy! Daddy!" Parents deserve much more credit than they are given sometimes. That cute little voice makes you want to get up with them with a bright smile on your face, no matter how much you need a few more minutes or hours of sleep.
Some people have been told that they do not have much time left on this Earth, so they plan on making every last second count. Enjoy every moment and take good care of yourself because life is so unpredictable.
Some people wake up because they know they are awesome and can make a positive impact on the world somehow. This should be everyone.
We are all unique and awesome in our own way and are here for a reason — make it count.
Some people just enjoy a good sunrise. A sunrise can be pretty beautiful. Take a second to enjoy the natural beauties in the world, especially the ones right here in Maryland.
Some people wake up to get a really good look at the love of their life lying next to them, take in every detail and realize how happy they are. Happiness and love are two incredibly powerful forces of why people do what they do.
Some people wake up to do what they're passionate about — whether that is taking amazing photos, helping people in need, writing for newspapers or magazines, learning in school, taking care of their family, going on a road trip, painting landscapes, making the world a better place, or so much more. You'll never work a day in your life if you love what you do.
I wake up every morning because I am here to change the world. I know that sounds a bit ambitious, and that might be true, but no dream is too big, right? I wake up every morning because I am motivated by my passion to help others in need; because I am surrounded by amazing friends and family; because the love of my life sent me a "Good morning, beautiful" text message while I was still sleeping. I wake up in the morning because every single day is a fresh start and I'm always excited for whatever the day may bring. Finally, every day is an opportunity for me to change the world, even in the smallest of ways.
Life is so much more than the usual day-to-day routine. It's not just about getting up, going to work or school, coming home, eating dinner, and going to bed. Life is about living. There are so many surprises, adventures and experiences awaiting us just after we wake up the morning. Find what drives you. Be yourself.
Do what you love. And most importantly, enjoy it.
So, what motivates you to get up every morning?
