Letter: Considering joining Carroll CAN, VOCAL groups

Are you feeling concerned about the direction of national and local politics? Would you like to see a change toward more inclusive, just and sensible policies? It's hard for one person alone to make a difference, but when people join together, they can become a powerful voice for change.

Here in Carroll County, there is a new nonpartisan group called Carroll CAN (Community Action Network). Go to CarrollCAN.org to learn more, and to see the calendar of events to find information about meetings of this group, and other local events that may be of interest. More than 150 people attended the last meeting of Carroll CAN.

Another group called VOCAL (Voices of the Center and Left) is focused more on local policies and government, and aims to promote more inclusive and just policies that reflect the values of moderate and progressive residents. Their meetings will be included on the events calendar at CarrollCAN.org.

These groups are a great opportunity to meet other Carroll County residents, to find out more about the issues and concerns of our neighbors, to discuss ways to make a difference, and to work together for positive changes.
