Please join me in voting for my friend, Judge Charles E. Harrison, for the Orphans' Court of Carroll County.
With a bachelor's degree in education, he began his career as a public school teacher. When conflict broke out in Vietnam, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army. He became one of the first to see combat flying a helicopter gunship. And during his service, he was one of the few to receive the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star Medal and the Vietnam Air Medal. In 1971 he resigned as a captain.
Then began his 28-year career with the FBI, where he held numerous important positions, becoming a recognized specialist in anti-terrorism. After his retirement in 2000, he has continued as a consultant and contractor as a counterterrorism professional. During this time, he received his master's degree in criminal justice administration, and he continues to serve as an adjunct professor in that field.
Over the years, he has been very active in community affairs, serving and being on the boards of many local organizations, including the board of the Shepherds' Staff, the American Legion, the ACLU, the NAACP, the Better Business Bureau and the list goes on.
The bottom line is this is a man of very broad experience who has demonstrated his dedication to justice and fairness. Adding to this his outgoing, pleasant personality leads me, and I hope all voters, to believe he has the kind of integrity and judgment to deal fairly, but realistically, with cases before the Orphans' Court of Carroll County.
