In a recent article about freedom there were many quotes, all very good. But, there were three from former presidents that I thought were worth passing on:

George Washington: "If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led like sheep to the slaughter."

Abraham Lincoln: "American will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

John F. Kennedy: "Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth."

Another quote by a president's wife is worth noting:

Elenor Roosevelt: "Freedom make a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry his own weight this is a frightening prospect."

Many other quotes were given by lesser-known persons. Does this not make you wonder about where is our county heading? I am concerned about my children a little, my grandchildren even more and scared for my great-grandchildren.
