Founded in June 2017, Dream Big Union Bridge is a 501c3 nonprofit organization consisting of volunteers coming together to improve the Town of Union Bridge. We held a get-together on June 19, 2017 to see what the interest would be from town residents and we had a great turnout. We have been going full steam ahead since that meeting. We are open to any suggestions or ideas.

Our first year was a very successful one. We held a 50-50 raffle, helped elderly residents move, and held a sub sale, two basket bingos, a coffee painting fundraiser, a tea party for elders at Shriner’s Court, built and donated a billboard/kiosk to the Town of Union Bridge, hosted a holiday tree lighting, caroling and holiday decorating contest and awarded prizes — the entire town was lit up and very festive. We also held a free holiday tree pickup for town residents, a free hot soup social, cleaned up debris from a fallen retaining wall and hauled it to the landfill for an elderly citizen, hosted an Easter egg hunt with prizes, the inaugural Duck Derby with prizes for the top five finishers that included a gift bag containing over $160 in gift certificates donated from businesses throughout the county, participated in the Union Bridge and New Windsor firefighter’s parades, purchased “Welcome to Union Bridge” banners with brackets, as well as brackets for the veteran’s banners throughout Main Street, partnered with Silver Oak Academy and repainted the basketball courts, cleaned the walking trail, made donations to Elmer Wolfe 5K race, FSK Honor Society Secret Santa Project, Carroll County FOP Lodge 20, and assisted with Save Our Streets Drug Awareness Expo.

We celebrated our first Anniversary by hosting a free cookout, with hot dogs, burgers, cake, games, popcorn, snow cones and music. We blocked off one block of Broadway Street and celebrated in the street. A great time was had by all. Anyone and everyone were welcome to attend.

We are currently holding a sub sale and the subs will be made by our very own Original Pizza in Union Bridge. (Subs made to perfection with their very own homemade rolls). We try to support the area businesses as much as possible.

Our mission is to bring businesses and residents together to improve and beautify the Town of Union Bridge. We have been working hard to raise money and give back to our town. The local businesses in town have been extremely supportive as well as others throughout the county. The county commissioners have also been very supportive and have attended events that we have hosted. We are currently exploring the possibility of holding yoga, line dancing, and Zumba classes.

We want people to feel welcome and to visit our wonderful little town. Back in the day Union Bridge was quite a happening town. There are numerous vacant buildings that are available for rent or to purchase as well as housing. It’s a great town to be a part of.

We meet the first Monday of every month at St. James Lutheran Church at 14 S. Benedum Street in Union Bridge starting promptly at 6 p.m. In the event of a holiday, we meet the following Monday. Anyone and everyone are welcome to attend our meetings and events
