Haven Shoemaker's column, "Count your blessings instead of sheep," crossed a line for me. About a quarter the way through his article, Del. Shoemaker turns his essay political, and in a disgraceful way. To compare the Democratic gubernatorial front-runners to the Three Stooges is not only unprofessional, but demeaning to those who want to serve the public. If Shoemaker has a problem with their records, state them clearly and unemotionally. And I'd like Mr. Shoemaker to know that the head of the venerable and respected NAACP is "Chief Executive Officer," not "high muckety muck." Is there a hint of bigotry here?
