Letter: Sessions should've kept reading scripture

Using a passage of scripture taken out of context to support children being taken from their parents is an abomination. If Jeff Sessions had just read a bit further this is what he would have read. "Love other people as well as you do yourself. You can't go wrong when you love others." ("The Message: New Testament in Contemporary Language," by Eugene Peterson)

He represents the same administration who would propose punishing women who seek a legal abortion. They expound on the sacredness of life while still in the womb. They talk very little about how the same administration needs to support legislation that would assure children that they would be able to obtain health care, adequate nutrition, adequate housing and education once they are born. That separating children from their parents is not only inhumane but reprehensible. I implore them to read and take heed to the passages in scripture that speak of treating others as we would like to be treated.
