When I entered the MBA program at University of Baltimore women were a small minority, just as they were in most graduate programs at the time. This stemmed from the messages we received daily about what our life goals should be. While in grad school, I visited a car showroom. I was admiring and yes, coveting, a very nice BMW. The salesman actually said to me "that's the kind of car that doctors and lawyers drive. I'm going to put you in a Camaro." Of course, he had no way of knowing that I was not a doctor or a lawyer; he just assumed.
