Letter: Comissioner candidate Robert a proven leader

Making decisions regarding who will trust to govern us is typically a difficult decision. Who should you trust with your vote? In the upcoming election for the Commissioner of District 5, it is as easy as it has ever been. The answer is Frank Robert. Most politicians, while on the campaign trail, have a tendency to tell voters what they want to hear. Not Frank Robert. Mr. Robert always listens intently to any question posed to him, taking time to make sure that he is not making promises that he cannot deliver on.

During his 8 years on the Sykesville Town Council, Mr. Robert worked tirelessly to make sure that he could fulfill his campaign promises. The biggest goal that Mr. Robert had was to focus his energy into revitalizing Sykesville's Main Street, all while maintaining a balanced budget without any tax increases. And he did just that! When I moved to Sykesville 10 years ago, I remember thinking about how cute our sleepy little Main Street was. Now when I walk down Main Street during one of the many events that draw thousands of people to the "Coolest Small Town in America," I know who I can thank for changing the atmosphere on Main Street. Frank Robert not only helped to change Main Street, but also helped to change the direction of the town as a whole.

Frank Robert has proven his mettle as a leader in our community and I know that he will be an effective leader for the people of Carroll County.
