A recent letter to the Carroll County Times attempted to defend allegedly Republican candidate for delegate David Ellin's generous campaign contributions to Democrats such as Gov. Hogan's opponent Anthony Brown , far-left, Trump -hating Brian Frosh and Stephanie "Space-to-Destroy" Rawlings-Blake by pointing out that Donald Trump gave money to both parties before he ran for president. True, businesses routinely donate to candidates in both parties in political races, either because the business agrees with a candidate's stance on a particular issue or to hedge their bets.
A review of Ellin's benevolence reveals, however, that he almost always exclusively bets on Democrats. One must pull out a magnifying glass and squint and strain to find where Ellin backed a member of the GOP . Was it Larry Hogan ? Nope. Was it someone in Carroll, the district he wants to represent? No way. Out of the thousands of dollars he donated to political candidates, all but a pittance went to Democrats, and that was given to a single Republican candidate in Baltimore County nearly seven long months after Ellin filed for House of Delegates in Carroll.
It is clear from his contribution record that Ellin "values" the election of Democrats over Republicans.
