Robin Ford, of Robin Ford Building & Remodeling in Hampstead, attended the Green Home Building A-Z Conference on Feb. 11, presented by the Maryland Building Industry Association's Green Building Council. Topics included an overview of the new 2015 Energy Code standards and the HERS (Home Energy Rating) Index, green building and energy efficiency standards. The new Indoor airPlus program was introduced as an opportunity for builders to create better environments inside and out. Also presented was identifying federal, state and local financial incentive programs which include Energy Star rebates, solar and geothermal programs and county incentives.

Ford is certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an Energy Star partner with BGE to improve energy efficiency in the home and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He will soon be including indoor air quality improvements to all his new homes by becoming an EPA Indoor airPLUS Homebuilder.
