Multiple Carroll County fire companies were called to Westminster to handle a blaze that left four people displaced.
Companies from Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley, New Windsor, Manchester, Gamber and Union Bridge were called to the 500 block of Yellow Lily Court around 5:40 p.m. for a report of a fire, said Josh Evans, spokesman with the Westminster Volunteer Fire Company.
Firefighters that arrived at the scene found heavy fire coming from the back of the house. It took 30 to 40 firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control, Evans said.
There were no injuries, but two adults and two children were displaced as a result of the fire. Red Cross is assisting them, he said.
The house is being considered a total loss. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire, he said.
"It was a serious fire," Evans said.
