A home located just outside Gamber on Sykesville Road suffered an estimated $100,000 in structural damage after a fire Monday morning, according to Bruce Bouch, deputy of the State Fire Marshal.

At 4:09 a.m., firefighters were called to the two-and-a-half story farm house in the 3300 block of Sykesville Road. It took 45 firefighters from six fire companies about an hour to combat the blaze. Sykesville Road was closed for the duration of the fire to protect motorists, Bouch said.
