The Week Ahead

History of Westminster lecture

250 Years of Westminster History will be presented from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll St., Westminster. The speaker will be Baltimore Sun history writer Kevin Dayhoff. He will trace storied history of Westminster, the Carroll County seat of government. Admission is $5/Historical Society members and $10/non-members.

Annual Sunday School Picnic to be held

The 132nd Annual Sunday School Picnic is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 7p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church.

The day will feature a flea market and craft sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; food available at 11 a.m.; and entertainment by New Season gospel music and The Salem Bottom Boys from 1 to 7 p.m. A moon bounce will be there kids.

Cool off with a summer treat

An Ice Cream Sundae Social will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at The Union Mills Homestead, 3311 Littlestown Pike, Westminster.

In addition to sweet summer treats, there will be entertainment by the Littlestown Municipal Band, and a clown, wagon rides and face painting.
