Sykesville's Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the Warfield master plan and amendments to the town's zoning ordinance as well as the creation of the Community Safety and Enhancement Taskforce.
Normally the council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, but because of Columbus Day this Monday, the offices will be closed and the meeting postponed until the following day.
On Oct. 6, a public meeting was held to update residents about proposed amendments to the master plan and zoning ordinance. During the council meeting on Tuesday, feedback from residents will be discussed.
Prior to the town's last council meeting, a public meeting led by the SHA was held to discuss plans for a community safety and enhancement project as well as the Streetscape program, which will improve roadways, sidewalks and improve pedestrian lighting. The council called for interested residents to form a community task force to provide input for the upcoming projects.
The council will be discussing the creation of such a task force in detail.
