Taylor Bopp receives scholarships

Taylor Bopp, who recently participated in the Annual Scholarship Competition at Lynchburg College in Virginia, has been awarded $23,000 in merit-based scholarships from Lynchburg.

"The scholarship competition was held to recognize the achievements of those students who excel in the Lynchburg College traditions of scholarship, leadership and community service," according to a press release.

Bopp was among more than 250 students competing for scholarships through completion of an essay-writing contest and interview with Lynchburg faculty and staff members.

A senior at Westminster High School, Bopp has a 4.2 weighted grade point average. She is going to attend Lynchburg College and plans a career in medicine.

Her parents are Doug and Lori Bopp, of Westminster.
