In the early morning hours of March 10, 2014, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the unit block of Broad Street in Taneytown. It took five firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames of a burning 2005 Saturn Ion, according to the news release. The fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Freeman was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on the charges earlier this month, according to electronic court records, and a warrant for his arrest was served Wednesday. He was taken to the Carroll County Detention Center, where he is being held on $30,000 bond.
