McDaniel College President Roger Casey will sit down with alumnus Buck Hartzell on Wednesday for the second installment of this semester's SmartTALK series.
The SmartTALK will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at McDaniel College in the Decker Center Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
SmartTALK brings notable alumni back to the college for an hour-long conversation with Casey. SmartTALK presenters have included a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, a foreign-service diplomat and a CIA attorney.
Hartzell is the director of investor operations and development at The Motley Fool, a multimedia financial services company building a worldwide investment community.
He received a bachelor's degree in sociology from McDaniel in 1992 and a master's in business administration from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The goal of The Motley Fool is to demystify the stock market and empower regular people to take control of their investments.
At the Alexandria, Va.-based company, Hartzell leads ace analysts and develops in-house training programs to groom ambitious "investment nerds" to join the organization.
During the talk, Casey and Hartzell will engage in a question-and-answer section about the importance of investing from both an individual and business perspective.
